I printed out one untitled version from the internet, and printed out another to use as a template for the handcut larger and central figure. I had to change the colours for this one, to fit the colours used in our clothing.

I love some of Keith Harings great abstract art pieces in particular.

Abstracts Remember Us

Remember Us was inspired by the primary colour work of artist Piet Mondrain, who was considered the first artist to move into the neoplaticism style. I chose him, because his primary colour work is what prompted me to start this series in total.

Abstracts Aroha

This particular layout was designed around a very early 20th century book capturing the Maori art of even earlier. The red and black emblems are symbolic of my own culture. I also added one red cross to the layout, to signafy the cross of St George, for my English hubbie.

Aroha-ini means In Love in Maori.

The layout was handcut.
