Not a great scan on this one.
This layout was created using some ethnic little change purses I bought from a local bank holiday flea market one day. The purses came with all this fantastic beading and jeweled elements. I had to cut these up and then place onto a 12x12 cardstock backing, then arrange the photographs to fill some very obvious gaps where the fabric did not stretch. The elements used on the gold vellum strip (which was handsewn onto the border) are Doodads - I just added the feathers. And I also used two clock buttons to centre the piece.
The frames around the photographs were put on in my photo editing software, but the scan makes them look really quite real. The photographs were changed to black and white in the same software, then hand-coloured with tint pens for the sepia look. All journaling on this layout is handwritten, using gel pens.
There is a somewhat yucky tale over these photos. This was the first time we were visiting with my daughter’s great-grandmother and just before I took these happy photos, my daughter had decided to projectile vomit all over herself, the carpet and several cushions. So we had to resort to the emergency clothes we had with us - hence the fact that in these photos she’s got no shoes or socks on!
