The Art Journal challenge for this week (Week 10) was to use both the phrases - “Wait and See” and “Tell Me Why”. Shimelle based this on her attendance at the Live8 concert last Saturday in London. She also challenged us to use other people’s photos in our journals. I have spent the week tossing around ideas towards the many many times I am forced to wait and see - from hospital results to job interviews.

Yet, today shadows so many others. 40 dead, 350 injured, and graphic photographs and scenes on all the media over here. So I used them. It made me feel sad yet somewhat relieved that I could somehow pinpoint this day into my memory. But not as cathetic as I hoped.

These are a digital assemblage - two pages in horizontal format, using filters to desolve out the images. I found the image of the older businessman all bandaged up and looking dazzed the most poignont of the lot. Larger images can be found in my gallery.
