I've used these books before on layouts. Created using one sheet of paper, with cuts and folds. You can use them as a maze puzzle for an A4 sheet of journaling, or smaller or larger pieces.

San Diego Museum's pdf file for this. A tunnel book has accordian sides and no spine. Pages are attached to both sides of the accordian and set one behind the other.
