Scrapblog Series : Introduction

ScrapblogNewbiesI’ve been blogging for a few years now - long before it got "trendy" and I’ve watched as many scrapbookers have taken to blogging with great gusto. Perhaps because I happen to maintain an ever growing list of scrapbloggers, I have also been sent quite a few inquiries from scrappers towards how to blog, where to blog, and other generic blogging questions. The same questions pop up on many scrapbooking forums every month or so also. Many scrappers don’t realise the quantity of options and choices they have before them when considering starting a blog, nor is information easy to get at, as it is scattered all over the web.

Whilst I’ve answered the same questions on several occasions, I am not purporting to be an expert in any of this, and the blogging industry itself remains fluant with ever changing services and trends.

I therefore thought it best to document this all up, in a reasonably comprehensive package. The associated entries are based on my own opinions, although I’ve tried to remain current and objective. For latest information on the blog services, always check out the link and information provided from their websites also. As I post each entry, I am sure that new thoughts will occur for each, and the entries will therefore be a work in progress, and edited often.

Eventually all of the Scrapblog Series will be put into a PDF file and uploaded here for ease of use. You are most welcome to add comments and suggestions or information you have found as you go along also.

I am a firm believer in blogging as a medium, as a voice, and as a creative and artistic (even scrapbooking) outlet. I would encourage any scrappers and mixed media artists to give blogging a shot, to see if it enhances their own life and that of their families, and to see if you pick up this blogging obsession as well. A blog doesn’t have to be updated daily, or weekly -it can fit your own schedules, but it is a bit of your history. Just like a scrapbook.
