Journaling of Dedication (although this will change, as after all the designing, I kind of did this in a rush) -

This is written on a spring day during
Easter, in the year of our lord, two
thousand and six.  My small family
and I (which includes one little black
cat) sit, on our bed, ready to begin the
morning.

It is a very ordinary life I lead, but like
most, my past has often been filled
with the extraordinary also. At this
point in time, I remain aware that
across the driveway from us, one
family is breaking up - our neighbour
is in hospital, and dying of cancer.

She was a good neighbour, she
remembered my daughter’s birthday,
and brought presents and stopped to
say hello to us. Her death will leave
me with a sense of my own mortality
and a need to tell my own story,
however randomly - just in case.

It seems silly, sometimes, to think
that this life - mine - is worth an
autobiography. Who am I? My
fifteen minutes of fame may never
come…but as our daughter is now
three, this appears to be as good a
time as any - I am famous in the
eyes of a three year old.

This journal is therefore to help me
remember (before it is too late); to
document the world (before it moves
on again); and to simply have fun
(which is sometimes difficult to do).
I hope you like it.

Dedicated to two people in my life -
Peter - my ever sensible and stunningly
supportive husband of five years; and
November - our three and a half year old
daughter - who one day will ask me too
many questions, and be surprised when
I have some answers.
