Scrapblog of the Week (16)
Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 06:12PM Scrapability’s Scrap Blog of the Week -Week 16 2006 : Il Mio Scrapbooking
il mio scrapbooking is the blog of an Italian scrapper, Federica Di Girolamo. Despite the fact that I can’t understand a word of it - without hitting a translator engine like babelfish - the blog is colourful, inspirational and contains the cutest little cartoon mouse characters.
Federica wrote to me, asking to have her blog added to my list, and stated that scrapbooking is slowly picking up in Italy - possibly helped by Federica herself, if the blog is anything to go by. She also has links to several US galleries including the 2Peas gallery, and galleries at Junkitz, Basic Grey, KI Memories and Chatterbox. The blog also is helpful in passing the word about scrapbooking in Italy itself - her sidebar links list scrapbooking galleries in several Italian locations, and 8 Italian bloggers also.
Federica has been blogging since September last year, and browsing down her archived listings, you can find several beautiful scrapbook layouts, mini albums completed, and all kinds of scrapbooking interests, from digital plugins for photoshop, digital pages, to mini albums, cards and paper-based layouts. This is a fantastic representation of a personal scrapblog worth bookmarking, despite the fact it’s not in English. Scrapbooking is truly international when you can find much in common between yourselves and that of Federica in Italy.

Try out some other European blogs in Non-English also -
- ConnyB’s German blog is a treat of layouts
- Fauve VanMaanen, a virtual friend of mine has a Dutch blog but entries are also in English. In the Netherlands, unlike other European countries, papercrafts and scrapbooking is very popular - the Netherlands have several scrapbooking magazines, and popular retreats which many Europeans attend. Check out Fauve’s blog at Queen of Crop
- Monique blogs in French - about Digital Scrapbooking
- And equal in inspiration as an Italian blog, is School of Scrap by Alessia - she likes digital also.
