Scrapability’s Scrap Blog of the Week -Week 14 2006 : Pubcalls Blog

 

For those of you serious about submitting to magazine and contest calls, and sick of being reliant on websites such as Scrapsubmit for overall information, try out the Pubcalls blog. This blog lists any calls they are aware of on a daily basis, with an accompanying calendar set at Trumba - which allows you to subscribe to the calendar itself also. Subscribing means that any call events can be emailed to yourself as a reminder also.  Trumba also allows you to subscribe via RSS feeds, so if you’re a Bloglines user, or Firefox user, live feeds can be streamed as the calendar is updated.

But don’t just subscribe up to the calendar, make sure you keep an eye on the actual Pubcalls Blog itself. The owner of this has managed to collect together a lot of links in the sidebar - to all the major U.S magazines, and manufacturers also. At this point in time, the links and blog seem predominantly set on the U.S. locale, but there is nothing to stop internationals from emailing calls of their own to the owner.
