MindMapping Network

Recently, because of the multiple projects I’m currently undertaken, I’ve been on a productivity kick also. Getting myself organised is paramount to any kind of success here. On my Ebook blog, you will find two recent reviews on productivity Ebooks - Zen to Done and Todoodlist, both of which deal with the productivity subject, and I highly recommend. On the Todoodlist review, I list some of the projects I am involved in, and trying to keep organised.

On top of this, I have several tangent projects running to get up to speed with the internet marketing side of things. And then there’s the mindmapping exercise out of How to Think Sideways, which I shared the graphic with you earlier.

I’ve long been a lover of mindmaps - do a search on here and you’ll find other blogs about them. So imagine my smiles when in the IM world I encountered an organisation system which uses a master mindmap and folder structure. IM-Index is the name, created by Alex Goodall and although not cheap, I’ve invested in it, to get my IM stash reasonably organised. IM-Index brings down the Mindjet Mindmanager Viewer to use with this master mindmap, and executables allow you to setup all your projects as structured mindmaps alone, linking to the folder structure for all your stuff.

This was my first introduction to Mindjet MindManager, although I can not afford to buy the software at this point. Previously I’ve used the open source Freemind, and currently EDraw, which has a nice little mindmapping side to it.

Strangely enough, today I had recourse to use the Mindjet MindManager viewer (which is a free download) again. A person on the 30 Day Challenge boards had posted up a mindmap of all of the 30 days worth of challenges. How good was that, to have all of those challenges on one ever-expanding page of links and bullet points. Both examples are fabulous master maps controlling vast amounts of project information.

The third coincidence happened tonight whilst clearning out my google reader items. In the shared items from a friend, Lynette (sometimes known as Swampangel) there was a forum posting from a network called MindManager Enthusiasts Network, and an item about using a master mindmap to organise ALL your life projects.

This mindmapping social network is built on Ning, the same system used for the Digital Scrapbooking 101 site I blogged about earlier this week. I haven’t completed a page, but here’s the invite request to the MindManager Enthusiasts Network, if you are interested in registering and taking a look around.
