Layout Share : Yep, 2 More Magazine Covers
I enjoy these so much, and I’m particular proud of the second travel mag, using some very random snapshots my hubbie took whilst on a business trip overseas this year. For a long time, I pondered over how to use these, whilst still leaving room for some detail.

Layout (Kindof) Shares: Magazine Covers
The following have been developed from scratch, based on local U.K. magazines, but with some name changes to stop copywrite infringement. There are no such Magazines in the U.K. although may be similar named mags overseas.
No credits required, as all the work has been developed myself, as a dedication to our family pets. I’ve saved them as templates also, in case somebody wants these within my Digi-Design for Others business.
The Dog World Magazine uses a photograph just arrived of Simon, our Old English Sheepdog puppy, at four months old. The photograph was taken in a competition by The Dog Portrait Company of Norwich. All of the photographs taken, of any breeds appeared to come out lovely and many proud owners are expecting to win that competition, I’m sure.
The red entitled Cat Magazine features a tribute cover to Frank, a rescue and elderly cat who sadly passed away two weeks ago, happily retired and very active until his last day. We now only have two cats, and the dog, but I thought these magazine covers would form a lovely tribute to each of our furry family members. Click on the thumbnails for larger images.
The Mom Song
On Royanna Fritschmann’s blog you will find the hilarious Mom Song. Even with a five year old, I can relate. LOL.
The link to the youtube video on Royanna’s blog came from Christine Smith’s blog. I went there, to see why Scrapquick is so suddenly closing down, which seems a huge loss to the industry. Christine states she’s a little disheartened by the state of the industry with so many freebies - now even for commercial use (where?) etc.
Christine, just a personal message, as a consumer solely - I don’t go searching out freebies, and prefer to support as much as possible the industry of great designers - with my wallet (er, when I can, lately). Christine is an awesome designer (I own quite a few of her designs), and also fantastic ideas-woman. It’s Christine who initially started off a digital scrapbooking blog carnival, and also the idea of blog stores for selling gifts. She was also quick off the market in recognising and making her TOU Scrap for Others friendly also. Not to mention opening Scrapquick. Although not into quickpages myself, I have perused through Scrapquick often enough to be enamoured by many of the quick page designers and their own talent over there.
As one new stay at home mom struggling towards trying to work to provide some money for my small family, I appreciate both Royanna and Christine’s sense of humour and dedication in designing. Go check out those Scrapquick sales then… I would certainly be doing so if quickpages were allowable for S4O work. Instead, I’ve got some winter clothes to sort out for my daughter - who I do wish would stop and hear me on occasion.
